Please see below for class policies on grading, & late work.
Grading:
A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
D = 60-69
F = 0-59
All students will have an opportunity to be successful in this class. Seek help if you are not reaching your grade goals, I want you to be successful!
Late Work:
Up to 8 Points off for each day an assignment is late. If extenuating circumstances prevent an assignment from being turned in on time it is the student’s responsibility to make teacher contact as soon as possible.
1 Day = 92
2 Days = 84
3 Days = 76
4 Days = 68
5+ Days = 60
Interim reports are handed out every 3 weeks and students can request a grade report at any time.
Grades will be kept as up to date as possible, however some larger projects might take a few days to be entered into PowerSchools.
Students should turn in any missing work within 2 weeks of the previous interim report to receive credit.
Any grade issues should be addressed prior to the end of the semester. This includes any errors or mistakes in grading unless it is a product submitted after the final interim is handed out. Grades will not be changed once the proceeding interim is given to students.
If I have made a mistake with a grade please let me know. I have no issue updating or correcting a grade if needed, but it should be addressed in a timely manner.
Students will be made well aware of these policies at the start of the year and reminded throughout the year. It is the responsibility of students to monitor their grades and are welcome to see Mr. Holota during HOT Lunch, by appointment, or email Mr. Holota at nholota@wcpss.net with any questions regarding grades. Every student will have an opportunity to be successful and earn a satisfactory grade, with opportunities to show mastery of the subject material for each unit. Grades will be a culmination of projects, tests, quizzes, individual work, small group work, and large class assignments.
